* Raising Funds --
Several businesses are happy to link with members in helping our youth programs with financial gifts.

Sentry Customers - Request a "Funds for Friends" sticker on your register receipt and bring the receipt to church.

Pick n' Save Customers - Include the church "We Care" account number 116300 on your Advantage card application.

Quad Graphics Employees - Community Fund donations made to "CTK Junior League" will be matched dollar for dollar.

Cell Phones or Printer Inkjet Cartridges - Please donate your used cell phones or printer cartridges for recycling.

* Job Opportunities --
Calls come occasionally for domestic help (baby-sitters, yard work, etc.) as well as general employment (unskilled labor). The Associate Pastor attempts to help link junior and senior highers with potential employers.

It is the aim of the congregation, through its youth committee and League organizations, to involve a maximum number of youth from the Christ the King community and surrounding areas in the opportunities for growth which the congregation offers. Those opportunities are to be found in worship, education, service, fellowship and others. Active participation by the youth is most greatly desired by the committee and Leagues. Looking for an incentive to youth involvements while recognizing fund-raising as a means to keep costs minimal, the following guidelines are offered for the Senior League:

Functions organized by the League fall into two main categories: regular and fund-raising. Unless otherwise specified, fund-raising is done to offset costs for major youth outings (usually, but not necessarily, held during the summer).

During the course of the program year, credit points will be kept for each member of the League. Each time an individual shows up for a regular event, one point is given. Each time an individual shows up for a fund-raising event, two points are given. Parents may get points for their child(ren) by helping with a fund-raising event in place of their absent child(ren).

Each year, around the 15th of May, points will be totaled. A comparison of an individual's points, made with the total points outstanding for the whole League, yields a percentage number. On the 15th, the dollars received for the year will also be tallied. Each youth will receive "on account" a financial credit in the amount of the percentage above. For instance --

  • Kevin comes to 7 regular events during the program year; helps with 3 fund-raisers; and Kevin's mother helps with fund-raiser which Kevin misses.
  • 7regular + 8 fund-raisers = 15 points.
  • Kevin's 15 points plus everyone else in the group yields a group total of 300. Kevin's 15 points represent 5% of the total.
  • As a whole, the group took in $9,000 during the year...(Pick 'n Save, Church Council, Fund-raisers, etc.)
  • $3000 was set aside for across the board scholarships and expenses;
  • $3000 was set aside for the next national youth gathering;
  • $3000 was set aside for points distribution
  • Kevin receives $3.000 x 5% = $150.

Financial credit may be used in whole or in part for any major outing(s) during the duration of the youth's connection with Christ the King until the fall following high school graduation. Financial credit may apply only to costs; not to personal spending. Financial credit should not be transferred to another congregation or institution and may not be offered to another person in the League - family or friend. Any unused fluids revert back to the youth treasury.
